The role of the team manager(s) is critical to a positive experience for your team. The role of the coach is to teach the players in their soccer skills and direct them at practices and games. The team manager should provide a positive administrative support for the coach and the team to ensure communication happens throughout the season.

FIRST REQUIRED STEPS AS A MANAGER

The following are the requirements a team manager will need to complete. The Club Administrator will send you an email with specific instructions regarding your background check and online training. Please do not pay out of pocket.

  1. Login to your LSC account and mark that you are volunteering as a team manager
  2. Background Check (MYSA every year and TCSL approx. every two years)
  3. SafeSport (every year)
  4. Disqualification Suspension Review (TCSL)
  5. Concussion Training (MYSA)

NEXT STEPS


  • Introduce yourself to the head coach
  • Get on the same page as head coach
  • Set a date and time with the head coach for a team meeting
  • Send an email to the team regarding the team meeting
  • Start collecting conflict dates for the fall season


TEAM MANAGER'S JOB DESCRIPTION


The team manager should provide positive administrative support for the coach and the team to ensure communication happens throughout the season. Below are a few but not limited to what a team manager is responsible for.


Your Tasks

  • Set up a team meeting
  • Collect team's blackout dates
  • Team Budget
  • Collecting team fees from parents (additional practice times, winter league fees, tournaments, year end party, coach gifts, etc)
  • Collect volunteer bond checks (Spring Season Only)
  • Add practices and game schedules in TeamSnap
  • Printing and laminating player and coach passes
  • Printing the game day roster
  • Notify the Club what tournaments the team will be attending (Spring Season Only)
  • Tournament registration
  • Tournament check-in
  • Set-up lodging for out of town tournaments
  • Reschedules games
  • End of season team party
